What’s Ahead for Black Iron Energy in 2026

2026 is shaping up to be a defining year for Black Iron Energy.

With expanded facilities, a new downtown sales office, growing U.S. activity, and continued growth of our Marketplace sales platform, we’re building the infrastructure and relationships needed to support the next phase of growth across North America.

"As we step into 2026, Black Iron Energy stands at an exciting point in our journey. The company is entering the year with strong momentum, a growing pipeline of projects, and strategic acquisitions that will expand both our capabilities and our reach. At the same time, we are beginning to establish our presence in international markets, positioning Black Iron Energy for long-term global growth. What gives me the greatest confidence in the year ahead is the strength of our team and the trust we have earned from our high-valued clients. Their continued confidence in our expertise and execution is the foundation of our success, and it is their ambition, combined with the dedication of our people, that continues to drive our progress. At Black Iron Energy, we are not simply pursuing growth — we are building a company defined by reliability, innovation, and the ability to deliver solutions where they are needed most. As our reach expands, so does our responsibility to deliver excellence in every market we serve. I firmly believe 2026 will be a defining year for Black Iron Energy as we continue to strengthen our position in the industry and create lasting value for our clients, our people, and the global energy markets we support."

A New Shop in Rocky View County

As demand for equipment solutions continues to grow, so does our operational footprint.

In 2026, we’re expanding into a new shop facility in Rocky View County, Alberta, strengthening our ability to receive, inspect, retrofit, refurbish, and stage equipment for clients across Western Canada and beyond.

This isn’t just additional square footage. It’s expanded capability.

The new space gives us greater flexibility to manage larger packages, improve turnaround times, and coordinate more complex scopes of work. Being located just east of Calgary also enhances our logistics efficiency while keeping us closely connected to our core market.

"Having a space like this has been a long time target for Black Iron, our growth in team and capabilities has allowed us to reach this point. We are very proud of the team and grateful to our growing client list who see value in the type of products and services we offer. There is certainly a growing demand for surplus repackaged product with deliveries and costs escalating on new builds. We are happy to provide alternative solutions."

First Up: Projects Already Underway

We’re not wasting any time.

One of the first projects in the new shop is retrofitting a 3665hp Caterpillar G3612 Ariel KBZ/4 compressor package from a sweet service single-stage configuration to a sour 3-stage configuration. Black Iron’s scope includes unit design and drafting, procurement of 3rd party design study, vessels, and piping.

We are also refurbishing several of our Ro-Flo VRU compressors so they will be made-ready for service.

Strengthening Our Downtown Presence

We’re excited to share that Black Iron Energy has officially opened a new sales office in downtown Calgary at the iconic First Canadian Centre.

This move strengthens our presence in the heart of Canada’s oil and gas industry and creates more opportunity for face-to-face collaboration with clients and partners.

Our Business Development Manager, Darren McRae, will be working from the downtown office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays – making it even easier to connect, meet, and move projects forward.

“Our business is built on relationships, and being downtown makes it easier to connect with our clients and partners in person. Having space in the center of downtown Calgary gives us quick and easy access to our customers. It’s been great.”

Proximity matters in this business. Being downtown allows us to stay close to the conversations shaping the industry while continuing to deliver responsive, relationship-driven service.

Expanding Our U.S. Footprint

Growth in 2026 isn’t limited to Western Canada.

We have a significant U.S. project in the pipeline that will further establish Black Iron Energy’s cross-border presence. This opportunity reflects:

  • Strong demand for asset redeployment solutions
  • Increasing cross-border collaboration
  • Our ability to execute on larger, more complex initiatives

Growing Our Marketplace Sales Platform

Black Iron Energy’s Marketplace helps companies unlock value from surplus oil and gas equipment while giving buyers access to high-quality, ready-to-deploy assets. Instead of letting equipment sit idle, we connect sellers with qualified buyers to accelerate recovery and improve returns.

With our expanded operational footprint and growing cross-border activity, Marketplace will continue to scale in 2026 – creating a more connected, efficient equipment ecosystem across the industry.

Positioned for What’s Next

Growth isn’t just about expanding our footprint – it’s about anticipating the needs of our customers so we are ready to hit the ground running on their projects when they are.

With a new operational centre in Rocky View County, a strengthened presence in downtown Calgary, growing U.S. activity, and a scalable Marketplace platform, Black Iron Energy is built to support clients through every stage of the asset lifecycle.

If your plans for 2026 include capital projects, asset rationalization, or equipment sourcing, we’re ready to connect.
